MSCA - Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF)

The MSCA – Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program. 5 different types of grants are available in the MSCA program, aiming to set up different types of training networks or training programs. The goal of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD and who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility.

Total budget: 2024: €270.75M

Funding rate: 100%

Deadlines: 11 September 2024

Project duration: max. 3 years

Consortium: Researchers of any nationality. Employment must be in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. It is based on an application made jointly by the researcher and the beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sectors.

Scope: Support is foreseen for individual, trans-national fellowships awarded to the best or most promising researchers of any nationality, for employment in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Fellowships take the form of European Fellowships or Global Fellowships. European Fellowships are held in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries and are open to researchers either coming to Europe from any country in the world or moving within Europe.

Proposals under this Action should contribute to the following expected impacts:

  • Enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD and wishing to diversify their individual competences and skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral mobility while implementing excellent research projects across all sectors of research;
  • Strengthen Europe’s human capital base in R&I with better trained, innovative and entrepreneurial researchers;
  • Enhance the quality of R&I contributing to Europe’s competitiveness and growth;
  • Contribute to Europe’s attractiveness as a leading destination for R&I and for good working conditions of researchers;
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and brain circulation across the ERA;Foster the culture of open science, innovation and entrepreneurship.

 


About MSCA

5 different types of grants are available in the MSCA program, aiming to set up different types of training networks or training programs. Other grants fund fellowships or events to increase the popularity of science in society. Marie Curie aims to enhance the skills of researchers or science staff in different stages of their career and the possibility to improve your career in science. In a lot of the grants the mobility principle is an important requirement, the researchers need to travel towards another country to gain skills, expertise or a fellowship.
